We are SKRAPS (Soup Kitchen for Radical Actions and Political Solidarity), a cooking collective with the goal of transforming rescued food into tasty vegan dishes, and by that showing solidarity with national and international resistance initiatives.
In this VoKu we will be cooking a three-course vegan meal with the goal of raising money for a group of (ex) IDF soldiers in Israel who are currently refusing their (obligatory) military service as opposition to the war in Gaza. The group is protesting the continuing meaningless war in Gaza, which kills the Israeli hostages, massacres thousands of innocent Palestinians, and only serves the narrow interests of a few Israeli politicians who prefer an endless war over people’s lives.
While they are still small, the group is growing and have already had influence in the Israeli political sphere. They are now raising money to promote their cause and actions and reach more people, hoping that it would lead to widespread dissent, and political pressure to end the war, bring back the hostages, and end the meaningless killing.
