With great pleasure, we are welcoming back Yiannis Chaldoupis at Joe’s Garage, this time with Moukliamos Drom. In 2022, Yiannis had visited an event organised by Aman Molli and ended up on the stage with his clarinet. In 2024, Yiannis performed with Nikos Tsop on guitar.
Moukliamos Drom is a band with deep roots in Epirus, Greece. Yiannis performs with Joris van Beek (violin), René Gosse (percussion) and Jan Wollring (accordion).
“The heart of our sound is formed by clarinetist Yiannis Chaldoupis, born and raised in Parakalamos. This village in northwestern Greece, near the Albanian border, is known for its vibrant Roma community. They play a crucial role in the preservation and development of the Epirotika (the unique, local music style of the Pogoni region). Volkseten Vegazulu is a people’s kitchens existing since the very beginning of Joe’s Garage, June 2005. Your donations are welcome. Food is vegan, no reservation. All benefits go to social & political struggles. Joe’s Garage is a space run by volunteers. Without a collective effort, without your active participation, we’re remaining closed.
