Report back: Solidarity demo Den Haag and statement OVS for anarchists in Indonesia

Report back: Yesterday, at the anarchist solidarity demo for anarchists in Indonesia before the Indonesian Embassy in Den Haag. There was a good turnout and mutual solidarity between the anarchist currents. We (FvGA/OVS) wanna thank the anarchists who organized it and we hope our message will be heard, and support our comrades in Indonesia.

Our statement:
Everyone, from The Hague to Indonesia and its neo-colonial regions, the Maluku Islands and West Papua, our bonds are real.
We at Organisatie v. Vrij Socialisme have been listening closely to our brothers and sisters over in Indonesia, to the voices of our anarchist comrades organised in struggle, particularly those of Perhimpunan Merdeka. We see their courage, their determination, their bravery. But we also see their state’s injustice, violence, and brutality.
We wish to leave a message to the peoples of Indonesia, one from all of us gathered here: we stand with you. Your fight is our fight, your hopes are our hopes. Across oceans, our struggles are one.
May your communities be safe. May your resistance grow strong, and may your dreams outlast their prisons. Power to you!
And to the authorities of Indonesia, let them also hear us clearly: Stand down. Stop the killings. Immediately end the violence, and release all those detained. Let the people speak, organise, and live!
It was Dutch colonialism which ultimately brought state repression and capitalist plunder to Indonesia. The rulers may be gone, but the systems of rule remain.
Yet as we can all see, repression cannot silence the people. And tonight, in turn, we promise: we will not look away. We will amplify their voices. We will try to match their courage with our own.
So.
Long live the peoples of Indonesia, West Papua, and Maluku!
Long live anarchism, and up to those who fight!
Hidup rakyat!
