Leg je werk tijdelijk neer voor Gaza. Om te eisen dat de steun aan oorlogsmisdaden stopt. Wij werken hier niet aan mee.

Op maandag 1 september legden we met velen onze werkzaamheden kortdurend neer om duidelijk te maken dat wij niet achter het kabinetsbeleid ten aanzien van Gaza staan.

Op maandag 6 oktober laten we opnieuw in heel Nederland luidkeels horen dat wij niet meewerken, nu met nog meer mensen. Elke eerste maandag van de maand blijven we het werk neerleggen, tot er sancties tegen Israël volgen.

Op maandag 6 OKTOBER laten we deze boodschap in heel Nederland luidkeels horen, en wel zo:

- Draag rood, ook de rest van de dag, zodat je herkenbaar bent voor medestanders.

- Leg kort voor 12 uur je werkzaamheden neer - of je nou werkt of niet, studeert, zzp-er bent of gepensioneerd. Doe dit samen met medestanders: collega’s, vrienden of buren.

- Als om 12 uur het luchtalarm klinkt, loop je kantoor, je klas of je huis uit. Sla met pannen, potten of claxons groot alarm voor Gaza als de sirene stopt, en verleng zo het alarm minstens 5 minuten. Eventueel kan dit afgesloten worden met een minuut stilte.

- Maak beelden van jullie actie en deel ze op social media onder de hashtag #wijwerkenhiernietaanmee.

- Kun je niet aan deze actie meedoen maar deel je onze boodschap? Plaats dan om 12 uur op social media de zandloper uit solidariteit met de Palestijnen in Gaza en op de Westelijke Jordaanoever. Ook dan met de hashtag: #wijwerkenhiernietaanmee.

Wil je juist meer doen?

- Meld je locatie aan, dan zetten wij die op de kaart op onze website zodat anderen zich aan kunnen sluiten.

- Stel op die dag dit out of office bericht in voor je mail:

- Neem vrij of meld je ziek op de eerste maandag van de maand.

- Sluit je aan bij een vakbond en/of roep je vakbond op om druk uit te oefenen op de regering.

Wil jij ook dat onze regering serieus in actie komt om de genocide in Gaza tegen te gaan? Roep dan samen met ons iedereen op om duidelijk te laten horen dat business-as-usual geen optie is: Wij werken hier niet aan mee.
Onze eisen aan de regering zijn helder:

- Wapenhandel (direct of indirect) met Israël? Wij werken hier niet aan mee.

- Een handelsverdrag met Israël? Wij werken hier niet aan mee.

- Import van producten uit illegale nederzettingen? Wij werken hier niet aan mee.

- De distributie van hulpgoederen door de Verenigde Naties die volledig is overgenomen door de door Israël gecontroleerde Gaza Humanitarian Foundation? Wij werken hier niet aan mee.

- Erkennen van de Palestijnse staat blijven uitstellen? Wij werken hier niet aan mee.

Over ons:

Wij werken in het bedrijfsleven of zijn ambtenaar, geven les of werken als kunstenaar, wat ons bindt is dat we ons ernstig zorgen maken over de situatie in Gaza en op de Westelijke Jordaanoever en het totale gebrek aan actie vanuit onze regering.

Wij vinden dialoog en respect voor ieder belangrijk en streven naar verbinding. Er is bij ons geen ruimte voor antisemitisme of islamofobie. Wij zijn geen platform voor politieke partijen. Wij veroordelen de gijzelingen en de aanvallen op Israëlische burgers van Hamas op 7 oktober en daarna ten zeerste. Wij vinden dat alle landen en machthebbers zich aan internationale (oorlogs)verdragen moeten houden.

On Monday September 1st, people throughout the entire Netherlands interrupted their work out of protest against the Dutch government’s policy towards Gaza.

On Monday October 6th, we will again voice our refusal to be complicit in this, now in even greater numbers. We will continue to interrupt our work on the first Monday of each month, until sanctions against Israel are implemented.

On Monday, OCTOBER 6TH, we will let this message resound throughout the Netherlands via the following action:

- Wear red on this day, so like-minded people can recognise you.

- Shortly before noon, temporarily lay down your work - whether you’re employed or not, whether you’re a student, a freelancer, or retired. Do this together with others: colleagues, friends or neighbours.

- When the air raid alert sounds at 12:00, step outside your office, classroom, or home. Once the siren falls silent, use pots, pans, or claxons to sound the alarm for Gaza - and extend the alert to at least 5 minutes. Close off with a minute of silence.

- Take images of the action, and share them on social media under the hashtag #wijwerkenhiernietaanmee.

- Are you unable to join this action but do you support our message? Then post the hourglass graphic on social media at noon, out of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. Again under the hashtag: #wijwerkenhiernietaanmee.

Would you like to do more?

- Register your location as a gathering point, and we will put it on a map on our website so others can join.

- On the day of the action, post this as your out-of-office message.

- Take the day off or call in sick on the first Monday of the month.

- Join a union and call upon your union to exert pressure on the government.

Our demands to the government are clear:

- Stop the arms trading (direct or indirect) with Israel.

- Cancel the trade agreement with Israel.

- Stop the import of products from illegal settlements.

- Stop the control over the distribution of UN aid to Palestinians by the Israeli-controlled Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

- Recognize Palestine as a state.

- Do you want our government to take serious action to stop the genocide in Gaza? Then join us in calling on everyone to wear red on the 6th of October, and to make clear that business-as-usual is not an option: we will not be complicit.

We work in the public and private sector, we work as teachers and as artists; what unites us is our grave concern for the fate of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and our outrage at the lack of action from our government.

Dialogue and mutual respect are our core values. There is no tolerance for antisemitism, islamophobia and other forms of harmful exclusion during our actions. Though our message is political, we are not a platform for political parties. We condemn the October 7th attacks and hijackings. We believe all countries and those in power should abide by international law.
