Slotenplakkers slaan weer toe: Albert Heijn’s verkoop van genocidale producten verstoord

Maandag 20 Oktober | 40 filialen dichtgelijmd in Amsterdam

Albert Heijn klanten stonden vanochtend voor een dichte deur en werden geconfronteerd met het feit dat Albert Heijn medeplichtig is aan de genocide in Palestina. Uit protest tegen de verkoop van Israëlische producten, heeft een groep actievoerders uitgebreid toegeslagen. De sloten van 40 Amsterdamse filialen zijn dichtgeplakt waardoor de zaken stilstonden. De actievoerders zullen doorgaan met het verhinderen van Albert Heijn’s zaken totdat de grootste supermarkt van Nederland stopt met de verkoop van apartheid producten.

Albert Heijn’s verdienmodel steunt Genocide en Apartheid

Albert Heijn is een belangrijke speler in de financiële ondersteuning van de genocidale staat Israël. AH verkoopt producten variërend van groenten en fruit (dadels, aardappelen, citrusvruchten, enz.), tot kant-en-klare maaltijden (Garden Gourmet, Sabra, Redefine Meat) en huishoudelijke artikelen (zoals Soda Stream) van Israël. AH heeft een marktaandeel van 37% in Nederland en meer dan 6500 supermarkten in 10 landen.

Met de verkooop van Israëlische producten wordt aanzienlijke winst gemaakt voor AH, maar ook aandeelhouders en Israëlische bedrijven. Dit houdt de economie in stand van een land dat de afgelopen twee jaar regelrechte genocide heeft gepleegd en de afgelopen 77 jaar apartheid en etnische zuiveringen heeft uitgevoerd. Door zaken te blijven doen met Israël, blijft men mensenrechtenschendingen, gruweldaden en apartheid steunen. 

De actievoeders zijn geïnspireerd door actiegropen zoals Palestine Action, BDS, Nederlands Komittee Palestine, Vrouwen in het Zwart, Koop Geen Israelische Dadels. Met de eisen van deze groepen in gedachten voeren ze directe verstorende acties tegen een bedrijf die weigert Israël te boycotten of hun investeringen terug te trekken.

Het genocidale business model moet verstoord worden!

Al meer dan twintig jaar roepen verschillende collectieven Albert Heijn op om zich aan de BDS-richtlijnen te houden en te stoppen met de verkoop van Israëlische producten. Talloze emails, petities, flyers en theatrale acties waren voor Ahold Delhaize niet voldoende met de verkoop van met bloed besmeurde producten te stoppen.
Na een eerdere actie waarbij 18 winkels in Amsterdam werden gesloten, reageerde Albert Heijn dat "aangezien zij geen politieke of religieuze organisatie zijn, geen partij mogen kiezen"
De actievoerders nemen geen genoegen met dit antwoord. “Door deze producten te verkopen steunt Albert Heijn mensenrechtenschendingen en gruweldaden. Wij gaan door met Albert Heijns verkoop verstoren totdat deze genocidale producten uit de schappen worden gehaald. “

Monday 20 October | 40 shops glued shut in Amsterdam.

This morning, customers of Albert Heijn stood in front of closed doors and were confronted with the fact that Albert Heijn is complicit in the genocide in Palestine. In protest of the selling of Israeli products, a group of actionists escalated a campaign against AH. The locks of 40 shops all over Amsterdam were glued and business stood still. They will continue to disrupt Albert Heijn's business until the biggest supermarket chain of the Netherlands stops with the selling of apartheid products.

Albert Heijn's business model supports Genocide and Apartheid

Albert Heijn plays an important role in financially supporting the genocidal state of Israel. The supermarket giant sells Israeli products from produce (dates, potatos, citrus, etc), to prepared foods (Garden Gourmet, Sabra, Redefine Meat), to household goods (such as Soda Stream). Albert Heijn has a market share of 37% of supermarket sales in the Netherlands and more than 6500 locations in 10 countries.

With the sale of Israeli products Albert Heijn, its shareholders, and Israeli companies make profits. These profits help to maintain the economy of a country that has been committing an outright genocide for the last 2 years, and apartheid and ethnic cleansing for the last 77 years.
To continue to do busniess with Israel is to continue to support human rights violations, crimes of attrocity, and apartheid.

The actionists were inspired by groups such as Palestine Action, BDS, Nederlands Komittee Palestine, Vrouwen in Zwart, Koop Geen Israelische Dadels, and more. With the demands from these groups in mind the actionists take direct disruptive action against a business that refuses to divest from the State of Israel.

The genocidal business model must be disrupted!

Already for more than 20 years several collectives have called for Albert Heijn to follow the guidelines set out by the BDS movement and stop selling Isreali products. Inumerable emails, petitions, flyers and theatrical actions have not been enough to convince Ahold Delhaize (Albert Heijn's parentcompany) to stop selling blood-soaked products!

After an action in September where 18 shops in Amsterdam were glued shut Albert Heijn responded that "since they are not a religious or political organization they should not take sides".

The actionists do not accept this response! "Through the sales of these products Albert Heijn supports the violation of human rights and crimes of attrocity. We will continue to take action to disrupt AH's profit until they remove these genocide-supporting products from their shelves."
