Author: AGA | GEPLAATST DOOR: De Anarchokrant | Bron: agamsterdam.org

Date: 19th June at 19:00
Location: Bollox, eerste schinkelstraat 16, Amsterdam

Join us Friday 19th of June at 19:00 at Bollox for the screening of the documentary of the Mesoamerican Caravan for Climate and Life (2025) and a discussion with representatives of the Caravan as part of their European tour during June 2026.

The film compiles testimonies, territorial journeys, and narratives of those participating in this process of regional articulation driven by Indigenous peoples, social organizations, and collectives from Mesoamerica. During October and November 2025 the Caravan travelled through different territories, from the north of Mexico to Belém, Brazil; creating spaces for encounter, dialogue, and denunciation of the realities faced by communities in the context of the climate crisis and the advance of extractive projects.

In continuity with the advocacy processes initiated in Mesoamerica, the present European tour through territories in France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, seeks to strengthen international articulation networks, promote strategic alliances, and position the voices and demands of the peoples of Mesoamerica on the global stage. It also aims to contribute to the construction of solidarity and accompaniment mechanisms in response to the contexts of risk faced by communities and organizations.

During the event the delegates will extend their collective work by sharing insights, key moments, and issues documented during the Caravan, particularly those related to territorial dispossession, attacks against land and environmental defenders, violence against journalists, and the differentiated impacts of the climate crisis. Join us in solidarity in thisefforts to build bridges between the territorial struggles of Mesoamerica and the international spaces where agendas and policies that directly impact communities are defined.
