02.11: Infotalk on Anarchy and Archaeology by two members of the Black Trowel Collective

The Black Trowel Collective (BTC) is a loose international collective of archaeologists who identify themselves as anarchists or anarchism adjacent. The BTC is made up of multiple ethnicities, economic backgrounds, religious histories, identities, and nationalities, committed to prefigurative action and mutual aid within archaeology across all realms: academia, museums, education, and the field. The members of the collective strive to apply anarchist principles of mutual aid and dismantle hierarchies in their everyday lives, as well as their work as archaeologists.

The presentation will explore the links between anarchism and archaeology.
